NICEIC (The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting) assess and certify contractors in the building sector, most notably electricians and renewable energy installers. “OLEV approved” is to say that the Government’s Office of Low Emission Vehicles have approved us to carry out electric vehicle charge point installations. Junction Electric electricians hold both NICEIC certification and OLEV approval, ensuring we are up-to-date on all aspects of electric car charger installation and the regulations that must be adhered to.

An OLEV approved installer is an essential requirement to qualify for the current EVHS and WCS grant schemes.

Our electricians are Andersen EV accredited installation engineers. Andersen EV charge points are made to order in their UK factory using premium materials. The end result is a high quality product built to deliver perfect performance year after year with an incredibly high-end aesthetic.

The Government Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme

The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) and Workplace Charge Scheme (WCS) provides grant funding of up to £350 towards the cost of installing electric vehicle charge points at domestic and commercial properties across the UK. Junction Electric are certified to carry out these grant funded installations and can advise you on the process.

How do I qualify for the OLEV Grant?

To qualify for OLEV scheme grant, you need to have purchased an eligible electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle after the 1st October 2016.

You must have off-street parking.
You must install an OLEV-approved “smart” chargepoint (such as an Andersen EV charge point we supply).
You must use an OLEV-approved charge point installer, such as Junction Electric (that’s us!).
The installation cannot be more than 4 months before the delivery of your electric vehicle, or when you became the registered driver of the electric vehicle.

We’ll be able to advise you on any grant qualification you may be eligible for and how much you’ll be able to save.
